73rd season for Tramways Band at Wattle Park

Friday 12 October, 2012

The Melbourne Tramways Band will be commencing their 73rd annual recital season on Sunday 14 October.

The free monthly concerts will be presented between 2.30pm – 4.30pm (weather permitting) at the open air bandstand in Wattle Park in Burwood.

Families and friends are invited to come along and enjoy a day in this wonderful setting listening to live music from the brass and stage bands.

“The Melbourne Tramways Band is a very popular Sunday event with the local community and attracts a large number of regular listeners”, says Parks Victoria Ranger in Charge David Collins.

“If you haven’t been to a concert yet we encourage you to come and have a listen, it’s a lovely afternoon’s entertainment for all the family,” says Mr Collins.

Wattle Park can be readily accessed by bus and tram (Route 70, stop 59) and vehicle parking is available. The park and its facilities have good disabled access.

Don’t be disheartened if you can’t make it this time around, as there will be monthly concerts through until April next year.
