Café operator sought for popular Brimbank Park
Monday 30 April, 2018
Parks Victoria is looking for an operator to run a café, retail and function space in Brimbank Park, in Melbourne’s north-west.
Just 15-minutes from Melbourne CBD, the family-friendly venue is a popular meeting point within the picturesque park, which receives more than 350,000 visits each year and is a haven for cycling, canoeing, running and social gatherings.
Available on a lease of up to 10 years, the venue is readily accessible by car and located next to the award-winning Brimbank Park kid’s playscape, sculptures and artwork.
Parks Victoria manages the park and visitor centre from onsite offices, and is keen to see a successful café, retail and function space running as a key part of the park and the local community.
Parks Victoria is seeking innovative applications that encourage further visitation and appreciation of the area’s natural surrounds.
Bounded by grasslands, eucalypts and the Maribyrnong River, Brimbank Park café has been a successful and much-loved part of the community since the 1990s. The venue now includes a functions and events space, and is a popular meeting place for families, play groups, park visitors, business and corporate groups.
Expressions of Interest can be submitted until Friday 22 June 2018.
