Extreme waves Sunday 18 to Monday 19 August

Thursday 15 August, 2013

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting extreme coastal conditions from the 18-19 August 2013.

High water levels and extreme waves are expected in the South West on Sunday and reaching Wilsons Prom on Monday.

A very deep low will move into western bass straight on Sunday and will be located south of Wilson’s Prom on Monday. The result of this will be extreme conditions along coastal Victoria west of Wilsons Prom, with extreme wave heights of 10–11 metres accompanied by strong to gale force winds.

Visitors are encouraged to err on the side of caution and check for updates on local weather conditions.
