Portsea Pier to temporarily close for repair works

Wednesday 6 September, 2017

Portsea Pier will temporarily close from Monday 11 September to allow maintenance and repairs to be carried out including removal and replacement of 3 piles and surrounding timber.

Works are expected to take up to two weeks, pending favourable weather and conditions.

The temporary closure will be effective during working hours with partial public access to the pier available outside of working hours.

Depending on the ability to ensure public safety, partial access to Portsea Pier will also be available over the weekend.

A safety barrier and signage will be installed to ensure public safety.

Parks Victoria apologises for any inconvenience caused during the temporary closure of the pier and recommends alternative piers nearby for fishing or promenading including Sorrento Pier and Rye Pier.

Parks Victoria is the local port manager for Port Phillip and Western Port and manages over 40 piers and jetties.
