Our Ministers

Under the Parks Victoria Act 2018, Parks Victoria's responsibilities are to provide services to the state and its agencies for the management of parks, reserves and other land under the control of the state, including waterways land (within the meaning of the Water Industry Act 1994), for the purposes of conservation, recreation, leisure, tourism or water transport. The minister responsible for administering the Parks Victoria Act is the Minister for Environment.

Parks Victoria’s responsibilities also extend to recreational boating in Port Phillip and Western Port as a local port manager under the Port Management Act 1995 and as a waterways manager under the Marine Safety Act 2010.

Parks Victoria’s responsibilities for the provision of services to the state are set out in Management Agreements between Parks Victoria, the Secretaries to the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and the relevant Ministers:
