Declaration of Boating Activity Exemption - Victorian Festival of Diwali 2017 - Yarra River

DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION
Parks Victoria as the declared waterway manager for the Yarra River upstream of port waters of the Port of Melbourne under the Marine Safety Act 2010 (VIC) makes the following declaration under section 203(3) of the Act. For the purposes of the presentation of the Victorian Festival of DIWALI fireworks display by ShowFX Australia Pty Ltd, under section 203(1) of the Act, vessels involved in the fireworks display are exempt from the requirements of clause 3.3(c) (i) of Schedule 3 of the Notice under the Marine Act 1988 (prohibiting the mooring and or berthing on the waters of the Yarra River upstream of port waters of the Port of Melbourne to Dights Falls).
The exemption applies from 5:30pm to 11:00pm on Saturday 14 October 2017 between Princes Bridge and the upstream edge of Federation Wharf, to a point on the southern side of the Yarra River, provided the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Event Application and associated documentation are adhered to.
