Declaration of boating activity exemption - Victorian Police and Emergency Services Games Aquathon

I, Graeme Davis, District Manager – Port Phillip Western Port, Melbourne Region, as delegate of Parks Victoria, the waterway manager for the Local Port of Port Phillip, declare under section 203(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that masters of rescue vessels directly involved in the Victorian Police and Emergency Services Games Aquathon event conducted by the Victorian Police Games Federation are exempt from:
- The requirements of the clause 1.1.9(a) (Area prohibited to vessels – Sandridge Life Saving Club) of Schedule 1, waterway rules for the Local Port of Port Phillip.
The masters of vessels providing rescue services must ensure they comply with the Marine Safety Act 2010 and gazetted waterway rules in respect to minimum speed and distances requirements.
The exemption applies from 8.00am to 11.30am on Wednesday 29 March 2017 for the waters of the Port Phillip at Sandridge Beach, provided the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Event Application and associated documentation are adhered to.
