NOTICE CONTROLLING NAVIGATION IN THE VICINITY OF WORKS
Parks Victoria, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Maribyrnong River upstream of Shepherd Bridge on Footscray Road, makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (the Act).
For the purposes of works activity proposed by Bellingham Marine Australia Pty Ltd for the installation of a floating pontoon on the Maribyrnong River at Footscray, all vessels and persons are prohibited from entering and remaining in the waters of the Maribyrnong River as detailed below, excluding vessels involved in the works and Parks Victoria vessels.
The prohibited waters are located 100 metres upstream of the Hopkins Bridge, extending 20 metres from the eastern shore and 60 metres along the shore. The work area will be marked by lit yellow communication buoys. During works a 45 metre transit zone will be clear for the navigation of river traffic.
The exclusion zone has effect from 7.00am on 18 June 2018 to 5.00pm on 22 June 2018.
Times and dates are subject to change. Changes to times, duration or days will be advertised on Parks Victoria the website and in a Notice to River Users (NTRU).
