NOTICE CONTROLLING NAVIGATION IN THE VICINITY OF WORKS

Parks Victoria, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Yarra River upstream of the port waters of the Port of Melbourne, makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Act).

For the purposes of the works activity proposed by Fitzgerald Constructions Australia Pty Ltd for the partial demolition of Swan Street Bridge over the Yarra River, under section 211 (1)(b)(i) of the Act, all vessels and persons, excluding vessels involved in the works, including Parks Victoria vessels, are prohibited from entering or remaining on these waters:

Works Zone 1 exclusion zone around the load out jetty, located on the northern bank of the Yarra River extending 200 metres upstream and downstream 80 metres to the south of the installed temporary load out jetty.

Works Zone 2 exclusion zone located 50 metres from the East and West drip line of Swan Street Bridge.

Swan Street Bridge Arch – Prohibited Area Closure Dates 7.00am to 5.00pm each day.

Eastern Arch. SPANS 1,5,4 closed 9/5/2017 – 25/5/2017, 19/06/2017 – 3/7/2017, 18/8/2017 – 7/9/2017, 13/10/2017 – 1/11/2017

Centre Arch.  SPANS 1,5,3 closed 25/5/2017 – 2/6/2017, 3/7/2017 – 7/7/2017, 13/8/2017, 8/9/2017 – 19/9/2017, 2/11/2017 – 7/11/2017

Western Arch.  SPANS 1,5,2 closed 2/6/2017 – 19/6/2017, 7/717 – 14/7/17, 20/9/2017 – 12/1/2017, 8/12/2017 – 8/12/2017

Barge re-locations. All Arches closed 11/8/2017 – 17/8/2017 as managed by Parks Victoria vessels.

The prohibited works areas will be signed and marked by a line of lit yellow water communication buoys.

These exclusion zones have effect from 7.00am 20 March 2017 through to 5.00pm 22 December 2017.
