Notice Controlling Navigation in the vicinity of works

Parks Victoria, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Yarra River upstream of
port waters of the Port of Melbourne, makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the
Marine Safety Act 2010.

For the purposes of the night-works activity proposed by Coffey Services Australia Pty Ltd for
a geophysical survey for the Melbourne Metro Rail Project under the Princes Bridge on the Yarra
River, the navigation and movement of vessels is prohibited in the waters of the Yarra River as
detailed below, excluding vessels involved in the works and Parks Victoria vessels.

The prohibited area extends 100 metres upstream and 100 metres downstream from the Princes
Bridge (St Kilda Road) and will be undertaken in 4 stages.

Stage 1 – Exclusion zone over the southern span
Stage 2 – Exclusion zone over of the central span
Stage 3 – Exclusion zone over the northern span
Stage 4 – Exclusion zone relocating between each bridge span to enable the array to be placed across
the river.

Whilst works are underway, the closed bridge span will be marked by lit yellow communication
buoys. Only one bridge span will be closed at any one time, with the 2 remaining bridge spans open
to river traffic, downstream traffic has right of way. Stage 4 is an exception, prohibiting all river
traffic.

The exclusion zone has effect from 4.00 pm on 25 June 2018 to 7.00 am on 14 July 2018.
