In November 2011, we asked if anyone had taken some great photos while out and about in Victoria’s amazing parks. The response was over 1,000 stunning photos and hundreds of great comments.
Congratulations to everyone that participated and made the competition such a friendly and fascinating way to explore Victoria’s magnificent parks system.
The photo gallery above displays the finalists. In time, we will showcase other entries in themed online photo galleries for you to enjoy.
The competition may return again in 2012, so keep an eye on this page for updates or keep in touch via Facebook and Twitter.

(Whisky Bay is currently closed.)
Best plant or animal
Winner: Arj Giese
Young Joey - Serendip Sanctuary.
(View gallery at top of page for large version)
Judges comment: Look carefully and you can see this young Joey peeking out of the pouch for a glimpse of the world outside to explore. A great example of the wildlife viewing on offer at Serendip Sanctuary.
Arj won two nights’ accommodation in a Wilderness Retreat.
Best comment
Winner: Alisha Ryan, commenting on Kelvin Burrage’s image taken at Gibsons Steps (above).
“Should win as I think the sun piercing the ribs of this rock depicts the fragile state that this apostle is in. A landmark that may not be around for much longer. Work for capturing this Kelvin!”
Judges comment: A great observation that lends further depth and meaning to the photo. A reminder to us all that this area should be enjoyed and cared for while we have the chance.
Alisha won two nights’ accommodation in a Wilderness Retreat.
