Walter Pisterman Walk and Point Nepean Cemetery
The 500 metre Walter Pisterman Heritage Walk is generally accessible although it has no hand rails and is steep in parts with some undulating areas along parts of the path.
It takes you to the historic Point Nepean Cemetery and is generally accessible to the Observatory Point picnic area. However, there is no access past this point on to the beach to the remnants of the former quarantine cattle jetty at Observatory Point.
It is approximately 100 metres from the start of the Walter Pisterman walk to the Point Nepean Cemetery. T
There are open views into the cemtery but accessibilty may only be possible with some assistance when the dirt and grass surface is mown short.
The path is comapcted gravel (Lilydale surface) with some loose stones. The first rest stop is at the end of the cemetery, approximately 150 metres from the start of the walk.
The path changes to asphalt for the remainder of the walk to Observatory Point picnic area after the first rest stop at the Point Nepean Cemetery.
There is one more rest stop approximately half way between the cemetery and the Observatory Point picnic area.
