Point Nepean is truly one of Victoria's beautiful natural landscapes. A special place with so much to see and discover.

It has a rich history and played an important role in shaping the early settlement, quarantine and defence of Victoria.

The park is located at the very tip of the Mornington Peninsula, with outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait, the Rip and Port Phillip Bay.

Explore the military forts and tunnels, discover the historic Quarantine Station, view the memorial where Prime Minister Harold Holt went missing or simply enjoy the coastal surrounds.

Opening hours

  • The park is open every day.
  • Vehicle access to park is available from 8am - 5pm daily.
  • The park is accessible at all times by foot or bicycle.
  • The Information Centre is open 10am - 5pm daily (closed Christmas Day). Note: there is no information officer on duty between 1.00pm and 1.30pm on weekdays.

Works program nears completion

A series of improvement works have been carried out at Point Nepean in recent months and are now nearing completion. Roadworks are complete, providing safe and improved access into the park and the historically significant Quarantine Station. Access further into the park and Fort Nepean is largely unchanged. Minor works will re-commence in early 2013 to complete the park’s transformation.
