Baluk Willam Nature Conservation Reserve is a sanctuary for over a third of Victoria's orchid species. Many, such as the Green-comb Spider Orchid, are best seen in spring when they are in flower. Others, such as the Cobra Greenhood and various helmet orchids, flower in autumn and winter and are at their best between June and August.
