Jackass Fern Gully Picnic and Camping Area

This tranquil campground is flat and provides reasonable access for people with disabilities.

Access
Located on the banks of the Fitzroy River, access is by vehicle off the unsealed Tand W Road.

Bookings
No booking, no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.

Campsites
There are 13 campsites available two of which are set aside for tents only. All campsites are unpowered. This campground is suitable for tents or caravans.

Facilities
Non-flush toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces, information and car parking are provided.

Campfire
Only allowed in designated fireplaces provided – supply your own wood – but fuel stoves are preferred.

Wrights Campground and Horse Camp

Access
Access is by vehicle off the unsealed Wrights Swamp Road. Alternatively access is by horse along the Great Cobboboonee Horse Ride.

No booking, no fees. Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.

There are 8 campsites available two of which are set aside for tents only. All campsites are unpowered. This campground is suitable for tents or caravans.

Facilities
Non-flush toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces, information, car parking and horse yards are provided.

Campfire
Only allowed in designated fireplaces provided – supply your own wood – but fuel stoves are preferred.

Surry Ridge Picnic and Camping Area

Access
Located on the banks of the Surry River, access is by vehicle off the unsealed Cut Out Dam Road.

No booking, no fees.  Camping is on a first in, first-served basis.

There are 13 campsites available three of which are set aside for tents only. All campsites are unpowered. This campground is suitable for tents or caravans.

Non-flush toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces, information and car parking are provided.

Only allowed in designated fireplaces provided – supply your own wood – but fuel stoves are preferred.

 

Hike-in Camps

Cobboboonee Hike-in Camping Area

The camping area is set among tall Eucalyptus trees in a sheltered location.

Access
Access is by walkers only. The camping area is located on the Great South West Walk, 10.6km from Cut Out Camp and 11.8km from Fitzroy Camp

Advanced bookings and payment is required.

Campsites
There are 19 unpowered campsites available set among Eucalyptus trees. The campsites are for hike-in walkers only.

Facilities
Non-flush toilets, shared picnic table, seasonal water tank (treat before drinking), picnic shelter and shared fireplace are provided.

Only allowed in designated fireplaces provided – supply your own wood – but fuel stoves are preferred.

Water
Seasonal tank water is available but is not suitable for drinking – supply your own.

Cut Out Hike-in Camping Area

This camping area is close to Surry River among tall Eucalyptus trees in a sheltered location. A walking track to Surry Ridge picnic area is nearby.

Access is by walkers only. The camping area is located on the Great South West Walk, 14.5km from Cubbys Camp and 10.6km from Cobboboonee Camp.

Advanced bookings and payment is required.

There are 20 unpowered campsites available set among tall Eucalyptus trees in a sheltered location. The campsites are for hike-in walkers only.

Fitzroy Hike-in Camping Area

This camping area is set among tall Eucalyptus trees in a sheltered location. It is close to Fitzroy River and has a walking track to Jackass Fern Gully picnic area.

Access
Access is by walkers only. The camping area is located on the Great South West Walk, 11.8km from Cobboboonee Camp and 23.3km from Moleside Camp.
