Distance: Approximately 3 kilometres.

Suitable for conventional manual wheelchairs, electric scooters, strollers and all terrain wheelchairs.  

Time taken to complete walk: one hour.  

The first section of the walk from the Apollo Bay Visitor Centre to the Apollo Bay Golf Club car park goes through the town reserve and has a compacted gravel path. There is a small hill on this section with a gradient no steeper than 1:14. Once at the top of the hill, the path goes through the golf club car park then up and across the Great Ocean Road. There is a small slope to reach the road intersection which has approximately a 1:14 gradient. Once across the road, the Great Ocean Walk path disappears briefly and visitors are required to follow the road nature strip on the left side of the Great Ocean Road.  The nature strip is lawn on a compacted sand base.

The walk then turns onto a compacted gravel path and follows alongside the Great Ocean Road down to Marengo. Initially, the track surface consists of crushed rock on a solid base.

Halfway to Marengo, it changes to a concrete path surface. The track width is approximately 1.2 metres wide and views of the beach and of Marengo Marine Sanctuary can be seen from the walk. Visitors can finish before the caravan park entrance or can continue up the hill for a further 600 metres.

There are accessible unisex toilets and designated accessible parking located at the Apollo Bay Visitor Information Centre.
