- Many roads, tracks and visitor sites within the park remain closed following heavy rainfall and flooding in March 2012. View the park update for details of what is open and what is closed. Limited access points and camping areas are open at River Murray Reserve. Visit or contact the local visitor information centre for more information on the many activities and attractions available in the area.

The wetlands and billabongs of the Gunbower forest are internationally recognised. When water flows along Little Gunbower Creek, the area is known for its spectacular birdlife. This is a great park for camping, fishing and relaxing on the bends of the Murray River.
