  • Flood Recovery - Many areas of Hepburn Regional Park were damaged by heavy rainfall and storms in early 2011. Park staff have commenced repairing roads, walking tracks and visitor facilities which will continue for some time. at Hepburn Regional Park

The park is located around the famous mineral springs townships of Daylesford, Hepburn and Hepburn Springs. Here you will find natural mineral springs and relics of the gold mining era set in delightful bush surroundings.

The sheltered extinct volcanic crater of Mount Franklin provides ideal surroundings for a picnic or short term camping. Panoramic views can be obtained from the summit and there is a scenic walking track along the rim of the crater.

Parks Victoria acknowledges the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of Victoria - including its parks and reserves. Through their cultural traditions, Aboriginal people maintain their connection to their ancestral lands and waters. You can camp for short stays at Mt Franklin which is also suitable for caravans and motor homes on a first come first served basis. Toilets, fireplaces and washing water are provided. Camping is also available in caravan parks in Daylesford and Hepburn Springs adjacent to the regional park.

Fossicking

Panning for gold along Sailors Creek is a popular pastime in the park. All adults must hold a current Miners Right to engage in fossicking. Remember to fill any holes made and leave the area as you found it. Relics must not be disturbed or removed and are protected by …
