- The lake at Karkarook Park is closed to recreational use due to high levels of blue-green algae detected in the lake. Visitors are advised to avoid contact with the water. Signage is in place and the water will be tested regularly. Visit the Department of Health and Human Services for more information about blue-green algae and health. at Lake Trail

Dragonfly Picnic Area is a good option for a picnic. There are picnic tables, barbecues, an observation tower, an accessible unisex toilet and access to a sealed path around the lake.
There is also designated disabled parking at Butterfly carpark.
