The Merri Creek Parklands in Melbourne's north stretches along 15 kilometers of the Merri Creek, extending from the Ring Road in Thomastown through to Craigieburn East Road in Craigieburn.
The parklands protects native grassland of state and national significance in this rapidly urbanising growth corridor of Melbourne, as well as providing opportunities to exercise, relax, socialise and enjoy nature.
This management plan will guide management of public open space along this stretch of the Merri Creek including Craigieburn Grassland Nature Conservation Reserve, Cooper Street Grassland Nature Conservation Reserve, Merri Creek Park (Barry Road Grasslands) managed by Parks Victoria, as well as land managed by Melbourne Water, City of Whittlesea and City of Hume.
