Final Greater Alpine National Parks Management Plan release expected in December 2016

Firstly, we’d like to say thank you to all those who took the time to provide a submissions and met with Parks Victoria staff about the draft Greater Alpine National Parks Management Plan.  Over 500 submissions were received covering a wide range of matters such as hunting, commercial development, environmental management, including dealing with specific species such as horses and deer, and the grazing trial to name a few.  The Planning Team has been carefully reviewing the many submissions received on the draft plan. 

The final plan is now expected to be released in December 2016. The plan will provide strategic guidance for the management of Alpine, Baw Baw, Errinundra, Mount Buffalo and Snowy River National Parks, Avon Wilderness Park, Tara Range Park, and Walhalla, Howqua Hills, Grant, Mount Wills and Mount Murphy Historic Areas.
