Accessibility

The R J Hamer Arboretum provides stunning views across the Yarra Valley to the Warburton Ranges. The Arboretum was assessed for accessiblity in early 2012.

The carpark provides an accessible vantage point. There are no designated disabled parking spaces. The carpark is a non marked open area with a hard packed road base surface.

In the middle of the carpark is an observation rotunda. The rotunda has a concrete base which is level with the car park.

There is a picnic facility below the end of the carpark.

Access is via a gravel path with an approximate slope of 1 in 12.

There are two small pavilions each containing an electric barbecue. The floors are concrete and the working height of the barbecues is 900 millimetres. There are two picnic tables provided. They do not have overhanging ends so wheelchairs cannot be rolled under them.

Behind the picnic facilities is a unisex accessible toilet. It has adequate maneuvering room and wheelchair space beside the toilet. There are side and rear grab bars provided for the toilet and an accessible hand basin within the cubicle.
