The State Coal Mine’s newly built Visitor Centre welcomes you the heart of Wonthaggi’s coal mining heritage.
Relax in the theatrette as film brings Wonthaggi's mining heritage to life or enjoy light refreshments in the Visitor Centre cafe overlooking the site’s historic buildings.
The souvenir shop offers unique mining memorabilia and a variety of items celebrating Wonthaggi’s history.
Whether you need a quick rest stop on your travels along the Bass Coast or are looking to begin your mine adventure underground, the Visitor Centre is open from 10am – 4.30pm daily except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and ANZAC Day.
Visitor Centre facilities including meeting rooms, theatrette and café areas are available for hire. Contact Parks Victoria on 13 1963 for further details and booking enquiries.
