Tidal River is the main camping location in Wilsons Promontory National Park, offering 484 camping and caravan sites situated near the beach and river. 20 powered sites are available and pre-booking is advisable.
Campground facilities include modern ammenity blocks with toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities, dishwashing stations, a playground and picnic areas equipped with free gas barbecues.
Generators and fires, including solid fuel compounds, are not permitted.
A wide range of roofed accommodation is also available at Tidal River including cabins, huts, group lodges and the award winning Wilderness Retreats. See the Tidal River Accommodation page for more information.
Easter, Labour Day & Melbourne Cup
Tidal River campsite bookings for the Easter, Labour Day and Melbourne Cup long weekends are obtained by online application.
Campsites are allocated on a first-in first-served basis.
Labour Day & Easter 2014
Applications for the Labour Day and Easter long weekends open online at 9.00am, Saturday 1 February 2014. Applicants will be notified by email with the result of their application once the allocation process is complete.

Each year a ballot is held for booking Tidal River camping and accommodation (except Wilderness Retreats) for the five weeks from Christmas until late January.
Ballot applications are made online throughout the month of June. To keep the ballot fair to all entrants, applications which stand at the close of the ballot are considered final and a cancellation fee applies to any withdrawal of a successful application after the draw has taken place. Minimum stays apply.
Summer ballot 2013-14
Applications for the 2013-14 summer ballot have now closed and all customers notified by email with the result of their application.
Some vacancies remain in week one for campsites (21 - 28 Dec). Call 13 1963 to book.
Campsite bookings - off-peak
Outside of defined peak season booking periods Tidal River campsites can be pre-booked up to 12 months in advance by calling 13 1963.
Sites are unallocated and you may choose your site on arrival on a first come, first served basis.
Pre-booking is highly recommended between Australia Day and Easter, particularly on weekends when the campground may reach capacity.
