Fuelbreak works November to June

Fuelbreaks are used in this park by fire fighters to help control bushfires or conduct planned burns. They also serve as a buffer between vegetation and nearby houses.

Fuelbreaks will be maintained on an ongoing basis through an annual slashing (mowing) program.

Thorough environmental and cultural heritage assessments have been undertaken prior to works commencing to minimise impacts.

Maps of fuelbreak works planned for the 2014-15 season for this park are available for download from the Melbourne Fire and Emergency Program page.

Details of current and upcoming planned burns are available on the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) website.
