Kookaburra awards
Parks Victoria's Kookaburra Awards recognise and honour individuals and groups who have made an outstanding contribution to Victoria’s parks The awards are held bi-annually.
The Awards are open to all volunteers, both individuals and groups, who participate in activities across the Parks Victoria estate.
The Kookaburra Awards:
- Recognise and honour individuals and groups who have made an outstanding voluntary contribution to the Victorian park system.
- Raise awareness of the extent and importance of community involvement in the Victorian park system.
- Encourage community involvement in the future development and conservation and use of the park system.
Award categories:
- Kookaburra Environmental Award.
- Kookaburra Indigenous Award.
- Kookaburra Community Partnership Award (Group Nominees only).
- Kookaburra Healthy Parks Healthy People Award.
- Kookaburra Multicultural Award.
- Young Kookaburra Award.
- Kookaburra Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kookaburra Environmental Award – Tree Project

Awarded to Tree Project for the propagation of indigenous seedlings and restoration of bushland at Yarra Bend Park, replacing removed exotic vegetation.
Kookaburra Environmental Award – Friends of Baw Baw National Park

Awarded to Friends of Baw Baw National Park for a range of successful projects and programs at Baw Baw National Park, with a focus on eradication of serious pest plants.
Kookaburra Environmental Award (Runner Up) – Tracey Skinner, Victorian Cliffcare

Awarded to Tracey Skinner for her work in restoring walking track erosion through stabilization works at Mount Arapilies-Tooan State Park.
Kookaburra Community Partnership Award - Friends of the Great West Walk

Awarded to Friends of the Great West Walk for a range of development, maintenance and marketing works along the Great South West Walk in which a diversity of people are engaged.
Kookaburra Community Partnership Award (Runner Up) - Friends of Kurth Kiln

Awarded to Friends of Kurth Kiln for conservation, preservation and educational activities at Kurth Kiln Regional Park, a great example of community partnership in action.
Kookaburra Multicultural Award – Joseph Youhana

Awarded to Joseph Youhana for his role in leading tours to educate people with a diverse range of backgrounds to the concept of parks and the overall environment and contributing to a range of events providing inclusive interpretation to culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Kookaburra Lifetime Achievement Award – Donna Collidge, Friends of Little Desert

Awarded to Donna Collidge in recognition of her long term participation in a range of projects to improve the habitat and amenities at Kiata Camping Ground and surrounding areas for all to enjoy.
Kookaburra Lifetime Achievement Award (Runner Up) – Stephen Murphy, Friends of Inverleigh Flora and Fauna Reserve
Awarded to Stephen Murphy in recognition of his long term participation in the protection, conservation and interpretation of the Inverleigh Flora and Fauna Reserve.
