Friends of Herring Island

Friends of Herring Island meet on the first Sunday of each month. Visit www.herringisland.org for conservation day dates and times.

Bring along a trowel, small spade or small mattock for planting.

Planting is undertaken in June, July and August and weeding and general maintenance is undertaken from September until May.

TROP Walk - Sparkes Lookout

Some steeper climbs but each walker can choose degree of difficulty. The track overlooks Squeaky Beach, the Glennie Islands Group (which is a nature reserve), and a wildlife sanctuary where in the summer months short tailed shearwaters and little penguins nest in their many thousands.
