The Association was formed as a direct result of the losses of High Country huts that occurred in the bushfires in January 2003. We will establish and coordinate a system of caretaker groups to maintain existing huts using volunteers. Our activities are coordinated with Parks Victoria and Department of Sustainability and Environment staff in the Alpine National Park and related areas of Crown Land.
