Enviro Active

Parks Victoria's online school education resource

Enviro Active is the best place for you and your students to discover Victoria's amazing natural environments.

This media-rich site provides high quality information about Victoria's habitats, plants and animals. Students will learn:

  • why these habitats are important
  • the species which rely on them for survival
  • threats and impacts facing them
  • what is being done to help conserve them
  • what students can do to become active in helping to protect our environment.

The site provides an extensive collection of downloadable videos and photos of Victoria's environment. This media can be used for free for any educational project. Teacher and student support materials provide detailed instructions on how students can use these resources to make their own wildlife movie. These movies can then be uploaded to the site so that students can share their movies with their friends and family.

Enviro TV brings the best short movies about Victoria's environment together in one place. This searchable collection draws on the knowledge and expertise of organisations such as Museum Victoria, Zoos Victoria, Department of Environment and Primary Industries as well as Parks Victoria's own videos.

Teaching resources

Enviro Active is also the best place to find teaching resources that support learning about Victoria's environment. These resources come from Parks Victoria as well as other leading research, government and non-profit providers. All resources are tagged to help you find activities that are suited to the student's level, topic and time available for the activity. Resources include:

  • Units of work
  • Teaching ideas
  • Online activities
  • Fieldwork activities
  • Data sets from recent research and monitoring of Victorian habitats and species
  • Links to quality information and teaching resources
  • Excursion ideas and opportunities
