Autumn firewood season – Mildura and Robinvale
Tuesday 26 February, 2019
Domestic firewood on public land is a limited resource that needs to be carefully managed. Future collection from Parks Victoria managed land will be subject to access and supply.
Due to the supply of firewood being exhausted there will be no domestic firewood collection at Mildura this autumn or in the future.
In some instances, further wood removal from the River Red Gum parks would have a negative impact on the health of the forest environment.
Residents of the Rural City of Mildura are eligible to collect firewood in the Robinvale firewood collection areas.
Access to firewood in Robinvale will only be available to residents of the Mildura Rural City and Swan Hill Rural City.
Three sites at Robinvale will open for collection this autumn. The first in time for season opening, 1 March, and the others in the following days.
Alternative sources of firewood include public firewood collection areas across Victoria or commercial suppliers.
