Expressions of Interest for grazing contracts for the Patho Plains and lower Avoca Plains
Tuesday 30 October, 2018
Parks Victoria is looking for farmers to work in partnership with to graze the native grasslands on the Patho Plains and lower Avoca Plains (west of Kerang).
Strategic grazing with sheep or cattle is the main technique used to manage the amount of plant growth on these native grasslands. The objective is to provide the ideal habitat for threatened flora and fauna species, including the endangered Plains-wanderer bird.
Parks Victoria contracts farmers to graze livestock to achieve the ideal habitat and is running an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process to engage interested farmers.
Grazing contracts are available across approximately 6,000 hectares for a three year period.
Interested farmers are required to attend a workshop from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 14 November at Mitiamo Football Club, Echuca-Mitiamo Road, Mitiamo. Attendance to the workshop will be looked upon favourable in the EOI process.
Expression of Interest (EOI) documents will be available at the workshop. EOIs must be submitted by Friday 30 November.
To register your attendance to the workshop, contact Jacqui Knee by calling Parks Victoria on 13 1963.
