Notice of controlling navigation in the vicinity of works - Maribyrnong River

Parks Victoria, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Maribyrnong River upstream of Shepherd Bridge on Footscray Road, makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Act)

For the Purposes of the works activity proposed by East West Dive and Salvage on behalf of John Holland Pty Ltd & CPB Contractors Pty Ltd to streamline the piers of Lynch’s Bridge above the Maribyrnong River, the navigation and movement of vessels is prohibited in the waters of the Maribyrnong River as detailed below, excluding vessels involved in the works and Parks Victoria vessels.

The prohibited area extends 40 meters upstream and downstream from Lynch’s Bridge and will be undertaken in 2 stages.

Whilst works are underway, two traffic lanes will remain open to river traffic at all times, downstream has right of way. The closed bridge spans will be marked by 2 lit yellow communication buoys and 10+ unlit yellow buoys.

The exclusion zone has effect from 07:00 am on 6th March 2019 to 02:00 pm 5th April 2019.
