- Shower facilities at Upper Yarra Reservoir will be closed until further notice. The closure follows monitoring results which confirmed the septic treatment system does not comply with approved EPA standards. Parks Victoria will continue to monitor the performance of the septic treatment system. Note: The price of camping has been reduced to reflect the facilities closure. Set in the peaceful high country east of Warburton, lies the popular Upper Yarra Reservoir Park - the upper most point of the Yarra River accessible to the public. The carefully maintained gardens and picnicgrounds, encompassed by eucalypt bushland and spectacular scenery, makes visiting Upper Yarra Reservoir Park a memorable experience.
Follow the beautiful Fern Gully self-guided trail as it loops through tall eucalypt forest with a dense sheltered ferny understorey.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the reservoir and the surrounding catchment from the lookouts.
Take a stroll along the Brimbonga Walking Track to the viewing platform and watch water flow through the reservoir's outlet basin as it begins its journey to Melbourne.
Important: Upper Yarra Reservoir Park will be closed from June 2019 to May 2021
Melbourne Water is upgrading the Upper Yarra Reservoir dam wall. The works area will encompass Upper Yarra Dam Road, Upper Yarra Reservoir Campground, day use areas, walking tracks and the reservoir embankment.
Minor works will commence in March 2019 through to June 2019. You will notice some traffic and noise during this time and some intermittent temporary closures may occur prior to the full closure of the reservoir park in June 2019 (after the Queen’s Birthday long weekend). The park will remain closed to the public until mid-2021.
Upon completion of works public access to the park and it’s amenities will be reinstated. Some improvements will be made to the existing facilities during the closure in order to enhance the level of amenity provided in the park.
