Community and volunteers
Parks Victoria delivers and supports several programs and activities aimed at engaging community in learning in, for and about our amazing parks and waterways.
Our programs aim to provide Victorians with meaningful ways to connect with their local parks and special places in ways that make learning enjoyable and enable a contribution to the protection of these places.
Ideal for kids aged 6-12, Parks Victoria’s Junior Ranger program is all about having hands-on fun outdoors while learning more about the environment and how parks protect native animals and plants.
Parks are ideal locations to monitor and learn about the impacts of climate change. In partnership with Earthwatch Australia, Parks Victoria are establishing Climatewatch Trails in parks to gather important knowledge on climate change, and we want your help!
There are many organisations working alongside Parks Victoria, hosting tours, activities and events in that help others learn about our parks and waterways.
Volunteering in parks is a great way to get involved in our natural environment. There are many benefits to volunteering such as learning more about plants and wildlife, gaining new skills, being in the outdoors and socialising.
