Welcome Walks

Need some inspiration and support to start walking? Welcome Walks are free walks facilitated by our volunteers or rangers.

Welcome Walks are very flat and easy but still pass by beautiful trees, lakes, birdlife and other wildlife such as kangaroos and echidnas.

There are always toilets, seats and plenty of signage to guide you should you decide to do it by yourself.

Lysterfield Park

Enjoy great views of beautiful Lysterfield Lake and walk past the local kangaroos lazing under the trees. Plenty of seats and toilets along the way.

Register to join our volunteer walk leader, or take a self guided walk.

Braeside Park

Part of the land at Braeside has been used as a horse training complex where Pharlap spent some time. Look out for the sculpture of Pharlap and your favourite Aussie animals carved out of the ghosts of felled pine trees. Seats and toilets available.

Register to join our volunteer walk leader or take a self guided walk.

Kennington Reservoir, Bendigo

Experience Aboriginal history, gold mining history, colourful parrots and kangaroos as part of this walk. The water birds on Kennington Reservoir top it off to make this a walk worth making part of your weekly routine. Toilets and seats available.

Take a self guided walk.

Jordan's Bend, Shepparton

Take a stroll along the heritage listed Goulburn River and marvel at the huge River Red Gums. Are they really 500 years old? Home to the rare squirrel gliders and the easily spottable cockatoos, galahs and parrots. Pram friendly and seats available.

Take a self guided walk.
