Albert Park Master Plan
A master plan is being drafted to set a 25 year vision for Albert Park to guide it through the next stage of its history. The next phase of engagement will run from 31 October to 5 December 2016.
Visit the Project Website for information: www.albertparkmasterplan.com.au
The Concept Framework stage works by seeking your views on
6 Future Directions and 10 “Big Ideas” to improve the visitor experience and
the sustainability of the park.
There are three ways that you can be involved in helping to shape the future of the park:
- Fill in the survey on the project website www.albertparkmasterplan.com.au
- Attend a Workshop – register via the project website
- Drop-in to the consultation tent by the lake path at any of these times:
Sunday 6 November 11am – 3pm, Coot Picnic Area (opposite MSAC)
Saturday 19 November 9am – 1pm, Ross Gregory Drive (Queens Road end)
Thursday 17 November 4pm – 8pm, Coot Picnic Area (opposite MSAC)
What we heard: The first phase
The first phase of engagement identified what is most important to people about Albert Park. It also identified what visitors consider are the key issues that need to be addressed. More than 500 individual stakeholders were engaged through open forums, onsite displays, online communications and targeted meetings. Over 3,500 visits were made to the website and over 300 surveys were completed. Thank you to everyone who participated. This engagement provided vital information which informed the development of the:
Albert Park Master Plan Background Report 2015 (29.8mb PDF)
Issues and opportunities paper (15mb PDF)
The Next Phase
The next phase of engagement will be to confirm a vision and key directions; and to test out some “big ideas” for making Albert Park even better.
