One of the iconic locations at the Prom, Squeaky Beach has rounded quartz sand that ‘squeaks’ when you walk on it.

Squeaky Beach via Tidal Overlook Walk

Starting at the Lilly Pilly Gully carpark, this walk offers the best views of the Prom’s west coast and a chance to observe a variety of coastal plant communities as it climbs the Tidal Overlook track on the headland between Norman and Leonard Bays before descending to Squeaky Beach.

Distance: 3.5km.
Time: 1 hour.
Grade: Moderate.

Note: This walk is now open following recent closure due to flood damage. Direct access from the Squeaky Beach carpark is now available.

Squeaky Beach via Picnic Bay Walk

One of the iconic locations at the Prom, Squeaky Beach has rounded quartz sand that ‘squeaks’ when you walk on it. Start at the Picnic Bay carpark then walk to the southern end of the beach.

A coastal track winds its way over Leonard Point to Squeaky Beach.

Distance: 2.5km.
Time: 1 hour.
Grade: Moderate.

Note: This walk is now open following recent closure due to flood damage. Direct access from the Squeaky Beach carpark is now available.
