School - park partnerships

Parks Victoria manages parks and historic sites on behalf of all Victorians.

Schools can get involved by forming a partnership with a local park with students working on a range of hands-on projects such as tree planting, weed removal and wildlife conservation projects. Read the case studies for more info about some of the great projects students have been working on.

ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic

Participating in a project with your local park is a great way for your school to become certified for the biodiversity module of ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic.Our rangers can help your students learn more about local biodiversity through sharing the type of work they do on a daily basis to help conserve our native plants and animals.

Kids Teaching Kids

Parks Victoria has partnered with schools across Victoria to help students develop projects for Kids Teaching Kids conferences and events. With locations all over Victoria, having your students involved in learning about their local park and then sharing their learning with other students from across the state is a great way to motivate your students to become active in conserving Victoria’s natural places.

Parks Victoria can also support schools in putting on their own regional event as part of Kids Teaching Kids Week. Point Nepean National Park hosts an event for schools in the Mornington Peninsula area. Parks Victoria is keen to extend this to other regions so register your interest by contacting our education team.
