Spillway Day Visitor Area provides great views across Cardinia Reservoir and the spillway area. Take the opportunity to walk across the dam wall with 360 degree views of surrounding area. Visitors can follow the Kangaroo Walk along the base of the dam wall, finishing at Crystal brook Picnic Area.

Spy the local wildlife residing in the area, often found relaxing along the base of the dam wall.

Feeding and approaching kangaroos is strictly prohibited. Be sure to stay at a safe distance.

Park gates are open between dawn and dusk all year round for vehicle access.

Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

Temporary Road Closures

Walking trails, roads and carparks within Cardinia Reservoir will be subject to temporary closures during Tuesday 21st of May to Thursday the 23rd of May.  These closures will enable staff to perform trail maintenance throughout the park.

Closures of the AB Road and the Northern Exit Rd will temporarily restrict access to Duffy's Rd from within Cardinia Reservoir Park. During these times detours will be possible via Red Hill Rd. Some car parking areas will also be restricted. Please account for any additional travel time this may add to park visits. 

Messmate Walking Trail will also be closed during these times.

Other visitor facilities should not be affected during these times.
