Ballots and peak season bookings

Outside of peak holiday periods outlined below, bookings can be made up to 12-18 months ahead with new dates released twice a year on the first Monday in December at 12:00 pm AEST and on the first Monday in August at 12:00 pm AEDT.

Peak season periods fill quickly. Camping over Easter, Labour Day and Christmas can be particularly popular.

First in, first served

The following parks are booked using a first in, first served online and phone booking system. Bookings for these sites at peak periods will open on specific dates - see table below.

  • Croajingolong National Park: Wingan Inlet, Shipwreck Creek
  • Great Otway National Park: Blanket Bay
  • Corringle Foreshore Reserve
  • Peachtree Creek Reserve
  • Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park

The maximum stay at Croajingolong National park, Corringle Foreshore Reserve and Peachtree Creek Reserve is reduced from five weeks to three weeks.

A maximum stay of three weeks has been introduced at Bunga Arm campground in the Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park.

Summer ballots

Wilsons Promontory (Tidal River) and Cape Conran

Applications can be made for Tidal River/Wilsons Promontory (www.parks.vic.gov.au/promballot) and Cape Conran (www.conran.net.au) during the ballot period listed below or by calling 13 1963. A random selection process applies after the closing date and applicants will be notified of the outcome.
