Kalymna is a small campground set in a peaceful forested area adjacent to Mount William Creek. This campground is the starting point for the walk to Kalymna Falls and provides access for well-prepared and experienced walkers to the Major Mitchell Plateau.


16km west of Moyston on Mount William Picnic Ground Road; this road is unsealed and suitable for two wheel drive vehicles.


No booking or payment is required at this campground. This campground operates on a first in, first served basis.


There are 5 tent-based camping sites at Kalymna, with all sites a short walk from the carpark. There are no caravan, campervan or camper trailer sites at Kalymna Campground. Each site at Kalymna accommodates a maximum of 6 people. Sites are unpowered.


A non-flush toilet, shared fireplace and shared picnic tables are located a short walk from the campsites.


No drinking water supplied; limited non-potable water may be available from a seasonal rainwater tank.


Only allowed in the designated fireplace - supply your own wood.


There is no rubbish collection at this campground, please take all rubbish with you.

Campfire guidelines

  • Light fires only in the fireplaces provided or use a portable camping stove instead
  • Ensure fires are never left unattended and are completely out before you leave
  • During summer and autumn Total Fire Bans are common - this means no open fires can be lit
