Offering delightful views of both the Murray River and the billabong, Billabong Walks picnic area offers picnic tables, toilets, parking and canoe launch facilities.

Take a short 200m loop walk down to the water’s edge at Kings Billabong Lookout and enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Billabong. 

The Bird Hide Loop Walk starts at the Billabong Walks carpark and is an easy 3.5km loop walk for the whole family. View the abundant waterbirds living on the largest part of the Billabong from the bird hide.

There is a carpark located at the picnic area which has a compacted gravel surface.

The toilets are approximately 10 metres from the carpark and access is via a short compacted gravel path. The toilets consist of two standard unisex toilets and a separate unisex accessible toilet.

Toilets at Kings Billabong 

The accessible toilet has an inward swinging door with an easy to hold grab handle. The door has a bolt style lock. The entrance to the toilet is approximately 80cm wide and there is adequate manoeuvrability room once inside the toilet cubicle. The toilet has grab railing on the right side wall and also grab railing behind. The toilet is a pit style toilet and the toilet seat has a back rest for better support.

There is no wash basin inside the cubicle but there is a tap with a knob style handle on the water tank outside the toilet for washing of hands.

Picnic area 

There are several accessible picnic tables scattered approximately 50 metres from the carpark. These are located adjacent to the compacted gravel path that leads from the carpark to the billabong. There are no barbecue facilities.
