Bays lakes and rivers experience brand territory

Victoria’s Bays, Lakes & Rivers are tranquil places, reflected in the illustration’s calming blue colour. They are places to relax, explore and enjoy a variety of activities on the water.

Bays, lakes and rivers

In the foreground, an estuary perch (type of fish) hides among a patch of dense mangroves and stringy bark trees. In the centre, the oar of a small boat reaches into the water. Further towards the horizon, look closely and you can see the outline of a kayaker paddling on the calm water. These are serene, peaceful places to discover.

Below the estuary perch are a series of small bands that evolve into water ripples. These bands are referenced from the Parks Victoria Managing Country Together artwork ‘Meereeng’ by Gary Walker. In the original artwork, they depict the extensive mountain ranges that have provided shelter and food for Aboriginal people for thousands of generations.
