TrailRider Volunteer Program

Parks Victoria provides TrailRider all-terrain wheelchairs in selected parks across Victoria, enabling visitors to access more rugged walking tracks. As a TrailRider Volunteer you will provide this physical assistance to pull/push the TrailRider on a variety of park walking tracks in these parks.

Volunteering as a TrailRider Volunteer is a great way to explore the park while lending a helping hand to park visitors. As a TrailRider Volunteer, you will play an important role in enabling visitors with disabilities or mobility limitations to explore locations beyond the realm of conventional wheelchairs, helping them to get outdoors and be active. You will also get to meet some amazing people.

Currently the TrailRider Volunteer program operates in the Grampians National Park and the Dandenong Ranges National Park.

What you'll do

  • Assist visitors to physically access and explore parks
  • Provide park information and track advice to TrailRider users
  • Enhance the park experience for park visitors

TrailRider Volunteers must have a good level of fitness, good communication skills and enjoy engaging with people.
