Glamping trial has now concluded in National Parks across Victoria

Touch of luxury that popped up in parks

Nature lovers looking for an extra touch of comfort had the opportunity to go glamping in two Victorian National Parks with Parks Victoria’s recent glamping trial.

Based in Mount Buffalo National Park and Lake Eildon National Park, this was a unique opportunity to go glamping in some of Victoria’s most stunning and remote locations.

The fusion of glamour and camping has been a hit worldwide, so trialling the experience in Victoria’s National Parks to connect more people with nature and the outdoors was an exciting opportunity for visitors.

"The vast majority of visitors to our parks have indicated they’d like more diverse and accessible park services. Offering different types of accommodation, such as glamping, helps enhance people’s experiences in our unique and magnificent parks. Parks Victoria aims to provide inspiring visitor experiences that connect more people with what is special about Victoria’s parks," says Simon Talbot, Chief Operating Officer, Parks Victoria.

The 3-month trial was held at two locations with two accommodation providers, and each delivered something a bit unique:

Lake Catani, Mt Buffalo National Park

Glamping at Lake Catani is an adventure and nature lover’s paradise. Mount Buffalo offers more than 90km of walking tracks, waterfalls, beautiful wildflowers, abundant wildlife and now luxury glamping.

With 10 bell tents, lush linens and furnishings and the creature comforts of home, visitors can relax after a busy day of adventure and exploring.

From $195 per night.

Devil Cove, Lake Eildon National Park

Located at popular Devil Cove campground in Lake Eildon National Park, ‘Glamping with Nature’ by the award-winning Yea Peppercorn Hotel offers all the luxury trimmings of glamping as well as health and wellness experiences, kayaking, cooking classes and group fitness classes.

Prices started at $130 per night.

Enjoy locally sourced gourmet food and beverage packages at each glamping site. The trial ran until December 2018 and we are currently reviewing the results of the project. More information will be available in the coming months, so stay tuned.
